The Agricultural Science Cyclones will face off against the Hancock Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Agricultural Science's favor as the squad sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Hancock has been banged up by 11 consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
While Agricultural Science's victory against Little Village wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cyclones sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Phoenix on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cyclones needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Meanwhile, Hancock got themselves on the board against Agricultural Science on Monday, but Agricultural Science never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Cyclones.
Saul Martinez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Hancock is 3-1-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-7 otherwise. Martinez was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Ryan Ostrowski was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Emiliano Leon, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Hancock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Hancock's victory bumped their record up to 5-8-1. As for Agricultural Science, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Agricultural Science has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 10.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hancock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Agricultural Science suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Hancock when the teams last played on Monday. Will the Cyclones have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
