Hay Springs' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kya Binger, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Julia Russell was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hay Springs struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Garden County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ridglyn Stanczyk led the charge by scoring seven points along with three steals. Stanczyk has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Karma Peterson, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Hay Springs are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-7. As for Garden County, their win bumped their record up to 6-16.
