The Van Nuys Wolves had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 48 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They skirted past Sylmar 47-44. The score was all tied up 22-22 at the break, but Van Nuys was the better team in the second half.
Vivianna Alvarado and Isabella Gonzalez certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Alvarado scored 18 points, while Gonzalez scored 15 points. Gonzalez continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Van Nuys pushed their record up to 16-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Sylmar, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.
Van Nuys does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sylmar also has no future games currently scheduled.
