After flying high against the Interboro Buccaneers last Monday, the Ridley Raiders came back down to earth. Ridley ended up on the wrong side of a rough 49-24 walloping at the hands of Garnet Valley on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ridley has scored all season.
Leading Garnet Valley to victory were Haylie Adamski and Kylie Mulholland. Adamski scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks, while Mulholland scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals. Mulholland is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Saunders, who scored five points along with three steals.
Ridley's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-4. As for Garnet Valley, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridley on the road again on Saturday and play against Conestoga at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. Conestoga will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Garnet Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Lower Merion at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lower Merion will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Garnet Valley is ranked 21st).
