The South Lake Eagles pushed their score all the way to 66 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Ocoee 72-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (57), South Lake still had to take the loss.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Pina, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was kevens charles, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
It was another big night for Justin Smith, who scored 19 points along with six steals and five assists for Ocoee. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Andreas Smith, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
South Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Ocoee, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
South Lake's road trip will continue as they head out to face Leesburg at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. Leesburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Lake in Florida (Leesburg is ranked 172nd, while South Lake is ranked 382nd). Ocoee and Evans will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Evans has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 319 points over their last five contests.
