Air Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Canon City Tigers 11-5. The Kadets not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 31, 2024 (when they won 16-6).
Maeleigh Hunt was excellent, earning one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylen Tucker-Flynn, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Canon City is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Looking ahead, Air Academy will face off against Pueblo East at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Canon City, they will head out on the road to challenge Fountain-Fort Carson at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
