Mays had already won seven in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They put the hurt on the South Atlanta Hornets with a sharp 16-1 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2017.

Amari Robinson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Mays let Montavious Fowler and Malicii Youngblood run wild. Fowler got on base in three of his four plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI, while Youngblood got on base in three of his four plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Muldrow, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Mays always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Atlanta only posted an OBP of .500.

Mays' record now sits at 2-0. As for South Atlanta, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mays will welcome Drew Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Atlanta, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against North Clayton at 5:00 p.m.
