Baseball Recap: Woodcrest Christian Wins Going Away Against Adelanto

After only two runs in their last game, Woodcrest Christian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Adelanto on Monday. The Royals were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Saints. For the Royals, this counts as revenge for the 7-4 victory the Saints walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Christian Macek made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Woodcrest Christian's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 7-9 when he doesn't). Macek was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Woodcrest Christian let Julian Suarez and Chase Suarez run wild. Julian scored three runs while going 3-for-4, while Chase scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Julian a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Cook, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

Woodcrest Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Woodcrest Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Adelanto, they moved to 8-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Woodcrest Christian will welcome Valley Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Defenders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Royals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Adelanto, they will head out to square off against Granite Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Saints' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
