Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Farragut). Everything went their way against the Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks on Monday as they made off with a 25-1 win. The Admirals have beaten the Silver Streaks the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Silver Streaks has come to flipping the script.
Ben DeMateo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Farragut is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. DeMateo was also big at the plate, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Yoel Guerra was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. He also snagged two stolen bases, which is notable because Farragut is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Robert DeMateo, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Farragut's record now sits at 7-5. As for Steinmetz College Prep, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
