The Hay Springs Hawks were the 47-22 winner over the Crawford Rams when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Hay Springs suffered a rough 47-27 defeat at the hands of Crawford on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hay Springs has scored all season.
Hay Springs' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mya Turman, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Turman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kya Binger, who scored three points along with four steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crawford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keslyn Vogel, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Britney Klein, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Hay Springs' defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. As for Crawford, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Hay Springs and Garden County will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hay Springs is facing Garden County at the right time seeing as Garden County is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Crawford, they will take on Mullen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mullen is coming into the game with four straight wins on the road, so Crawford is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
