Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Tokay's 11th in Last 12 Outings

Tokay barely beat Franklin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 8-2 win on Thursday. Considering the Tigers have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Conner Preap spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Paul Buckley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Van Dyke, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Tokay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Tokay has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9.
