Shafter hasn't had much luck against Taft recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Generals will welcome the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shafter's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Kennedy. The win was nothing new for the Generals as they're now sitting on three straight.

Andy Gomez and Nini Garcia made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Gomez didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Garcia pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At the plate, Gomez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Garcia went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Shafter let Joaquin Garza and Lukas Pena run wild. Garza went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Pena went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Garza has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Munoz, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI and one double.
Shafter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennedy only posted an OBP of .318.
Meanwhile, Taft won against McLane on Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Wildcats blew past Minarets 10-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.
Taft saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brock Heber, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Heber has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-11 otherwise.
Shafter pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Taft, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
