The West Shamokin Wolves suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 62-26 defeat at the hands of Portage. While losing is never fun, West Shamokin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while Portage is ranked 34th).
Ashlyn Hudak was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 15 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Burkett, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
West Shamokin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Portage, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
West Shamokin's road trip will continue as they head out to face Conemaugh Township at 7:15 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Portage, they will be playing at home against Cambria Heights at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
