After three games on the road, Moshannon Valley is heading back home. They will take on the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Thursday, Moshannon Valley came up short against the Hornets and fell 57-45.
Meanwhile, Claysburg-Kimmel's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 68-41 loss at the hands of Mount Union. Claysburg-Kimmel found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post seven fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the defeat, Claysburg-Kimmel saw an underclassman step up: Zailee Bush scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Bush has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.
Moshannon Valley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.
Moshannon Valley was dealt a bruising 62-5 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in January of 2021. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Moshannon Valley was down 41-2.
