The Mars Fightin' Planets won the last time they faced the New Castle Hurricanes, and things went their way on Monday too. Mars strolled past New Castle with points to spare, taking the game 62-46. With that victory, Mars brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mars to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carmella McDole, who scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cecilia Christy, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Mars pushed their record up to 8-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for New Castle, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Mars will square off against Lincoln Park Performing Arts at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Lincoln Park Performing Arts is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for New Castle, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hampton at 6:30 p.m. Hampton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than New Castle in Pennsylvania (Hampton is ranked 264th, while New Castle is ranked 581st).
