The Brattleboro Bears will face off against the Fair Haven Slaters at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Brattleboro hasn't scored more than two runs for five games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.
Mount Anthony hit Brattleboro with a five-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears came up short against the Patriots, falling 12-2. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by exactly ten runs.
Meanwhile, Fair Haven had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Windsor on Wednesday as they made off with an 8-2 win.
EASTON ADAMS made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. ADAMS was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on CODY ADAMS, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was JACOB JAMIESON, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
The victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 3-8. As for Brattleboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Brattleboro got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Fair Haven by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Slaters turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
