The Colony Titans will challenge the Riverside Prep Silver Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
San Dimas hit Colony with a five-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans fell 10-6 to the Saints.
Colony saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Martinez-Gomez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs. AJ Rangel was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Riverside Prep waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 15-3 win. 15 seems to be a good number for the Silver Knights as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Jacob Villegas made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Riverside Prep: the team is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, Trent Bourgeois and Victor Herrera did most of the damage at the plate: Bourgeois got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Herrera went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Riverside Prep is undefeated when Herrera posts two or more runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Eddie Frausto, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Riverside Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in nine consecutive matchups.
Riverside Prep's win bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Colony, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-15-1.
Colony was able to grind out a solid victory over Riverside Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 7-3. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Silver Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
