The Enochs Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Central Catholic Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Enochs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 37 on Monday.
Last Monday, Enochs had to suffer through a rough 75-36 loss at the hands of Hughson. Enochs has struggled against Hughson recently, as their game on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Enochs' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Natalie Quinones, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 blocks, and Maya Ramsay who scored 8 points along with 7 steals. Quinones scored a full 27.8% of Enochs' points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Central Catholic's and Downey's contest last Tuesday was close at halftime, but Central Catholic turned on the heat in the second half with 26 points. Everything went Central Catholic's way against Downey as Central Catholic made off with a 52-28 win.
Central Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taryn Calderon led the charge by scoring 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Abbate, who scored 12 points.
Their wins bumped Enochs to 2-1 and Hughson to 3-1.
