The Medfield Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Medway Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Medfield is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since April 13th on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Bellingham 10-9. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Blackhawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Grayson Mesite looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alex Zilora, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Medfield is undefeated when Zilora posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cj Herrick, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Medway). They blew past Millis 16-2 on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Aidan Tkowski was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Tkowski was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jackson Duguay was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in runs (three). Another player making a difference was Jack Heavner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Medway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Medfield's record is now 13-8. As for Medway, their record now sits at 14-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Medfield has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Medway struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Medfield couldn't quite finish off Medway when the teams last played back in April and fell 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
