There's no place like home for Pinecrest Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Hearts Academy Panthers on Tuesday as the Pinecrest Academy Paladins made off with an 11-1 victory. The Paladins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.
Mathew Sime made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam McCavitt, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Lucas Miles also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Pinecrest Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hearts Academy only posted a batting average of .188.
Pinecrest Academy pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
