Apollo Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 424th, while Shady Side Academy is ranked 95th).
Apollo Ridge suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2023 on Thursday. They were outmatched by Aquinas Academy at home and fell 64-35.
Meanwhile, Shady Side Academy entered their tilt with Ligonier Valley with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Shady Side Academy blew past Ligonier Valley 73-30 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Shady Side Academy has managed all season.
Apollo Ridge has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Shady Side Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home.
Apollo Ridge was dealt a bruising 57-17 loss at the hands of Shady Side Academy in their previous matchup on January 2nd. Can Apollo Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
