The Southwestern Academy Sun won the last time they faced the Sequoyah School Gryphons, and things went their way on Monday too. Southwestern Academy enjoyed a cozy 38-23 win over the Gryphons. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Southwestern Academy has managed all season.
Southwestern Academy had a senior duo take command as Marifer Durand almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds and Michelle Fakrogha scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. It was the first time this season that Durand scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Valza Jusufi, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds.
Southwestern Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season. As for Sequoyah School, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Southwestern Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sequoyah School won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the EF Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 30th.
