Torrance was the 7-3 winner over Palos Verdes when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Tartars took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sea Kings on Wednesday. The Tartars' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Sam Cruz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March.

At the plate, Torrance saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noriyoshi Mori, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Mori has hit this season.

Torrance's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Palos Verdes, their win bumped their record up to 10-15.

While Torrance had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
