On Saturday, The Cedar Mountain Cougars faced the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Cedar Mountain enjoyed a cozy 32-14 victory over New Ulm Cathedral. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cedar Mountain.
Cedar Mountain's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Branndon Pendelton, who picked up 137 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a rushing scores. Pendelton was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 66 yards. Carson Schiller also helped out by tossing the rock for 274 yards.
Cedar Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for New Ulm Cathedral, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.
Cedar Mountain is on the road again on Friday and play against Red Rock Central. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Minnesota (Red Rock Central is ranked 21st, while Cedar Mountain is ranked 14th). New Ulm Cathedral does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
