The Independence Falcons had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They managed a 51-45 win over Ridgeview. This was payback for Independence, who suffered a 52-38 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Independence got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaylynn Bolden out in front who scored eight points along with 18 rebounds and five assists. Bolden has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 18 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Fletcher, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Ridgeview's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenadi Walton, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Beserra, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Independence's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-11. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Ridgeview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.
