Shiloh extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-10. They lost 23-9 to the Lakeside Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent loss being a 5-3 defeat on Wednesday.
Shiloh got a massive performance out of Nasir White, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was MJ Miller, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
As for Lakeside, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
On Lakeside's side, Chuck Mellion looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Mellion has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grant Jackson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Micah Von was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four runs, one double, and one RBI.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shiloh will challenge Woodward Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Generals will need to watch out since the War Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups. As for Lakeside, they will face off against Dunwoody at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
