Capuchino is a perfect 10-0 against Mills since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will face off against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Mills will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Capuchino extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over Mission. Considering the Mustangs have won three matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Morgan Meehan got the start for Capuchino and what a start it was: he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Cole Douglas came in to relieve Meehan and was airtight, giving up no runs, hits or walks in his an inning pitched.
On the hitting side, Nathan Meyer was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Lazzari, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.
Capuchino always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Mills made easy work of Balboa on Saturday and carried off an 11-1 victory.
Hagan Chan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Chan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Lafon, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Tyler Yuan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Mills now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Capuchino, their record now sits at 4-0.
Capuchino got the 'W' when the teams last played back in February of 2025 against Mills by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
