In what's become a running theme this season, the Cornerstone Christian Cougars gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 71-25 victory over Fremont Christian at home. Given Cornerstone Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Fremont Christian is ranked 753rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cornerstone Christian found their leader in underclassman Kaylie Bertand, who scored 21 points along with five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bertand has scored all season. Pamela-Joyce Allen was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Cornerstone Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Fremont Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian will square off against Holy Names at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fremont Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Making Waves Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 26th.
