The Village Christian Crusaders and the San Dimas Saints will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Village Christian comes in on eight and San Dimas on three.
Last Thursday, Village Christian faced Rosary Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Village Christian skirted past Rosary Academy 63-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Layla Davis, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. The match was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. Alanna Neale was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, even though Roosevelt scored an imposing 58 points on Thursday, San Dimas still came out on top. San Dimas pulled ahead with a 59-58 photo finish over Roosevelt.
San Dimas got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaelyn Ramos out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Ramos has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Romero, who scored 17 points.
Village Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for San Dimas, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
