It's playoff time, and Heritage had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Harlem Bulldogs on Thursday as they made off with a 17-5 victory. The Generals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Bailee Hollis was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 5-for-6 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Heritage got a massive performance out of Landry White, who went 3-for-6 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Molly Corvin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Heritage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Heritage's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-10. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Harlem, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-10.
