Aaron Perez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, AJ Nevarez was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Curtis Chandler also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Perris was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 11-0 to Rancho Christian.
Perris' loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Vista del Lago, their record is now 7-11.
Perris' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Vista del Lago has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. It's a different story for Perris, though, as they've only averaged .304. Will they be able to contain Vista del Lago's hitters?
Vista del Lago took their victory against Perris in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ravens since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
