Baseball Game Preview: Gunn Titans vs. Wilcox Chargers

For the second straight game, Gunn will face off against Wilcox. The Titans will take on the Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Gunn took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Wilcox a 5-0 shutout. While the Titans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Cyrus Silva Rezvani made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Silva Rezvani was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Silva Rezvani wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Fitzhugh, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that Fitzhugh snagged this season.

Gunn's record now sits at 6-4. As for Wilcox, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
