The Porterville Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Farmersville, posting a 69-41 victory at home. The win was just what Porterville needed coming off of a 65-35 defeat in their prior match.
Porterville found their leader in underclassman Ryleigh Schoonover, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Schoonover has scored at least a third of Porterville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marissa Martin, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Farmersville saw an underclassman step up: Jazmaine Stewart scored 28 points. That was a full 68.3% of Farmersville's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Porterville's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Farmersville, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.
Porterville will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Marauders at 6:30 p.m. Monache will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Farmersville, they will head out on the road to square off against the Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Orange Cove comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
