Masterman will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Frankford Pioneers at 3:15 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Masterman took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 51-22 win over Parkway West. 51 seems to be a good number for Masterman as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Masterman can attribute much of their success to Jocelyn Goldstein, who scored 25 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Goldstein has scored at least 25% of Masterman's points. Another player making a difference was Sophia Brunelli, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Frankford put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Mariana Bracetti Academy 39-18. The team accrued 29 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Frankford's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Janeliss Laboy, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Laboy's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zanayiah Cross, who scored 14 points along with 7 steals.
Masterman's victory lifted them to 2-0 while Parkway West's defeat dropped them down to 0-3.
