If the Valencia Vikings were feeling good off their 53-25 takedown of the Golden Valley Grizzlies last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Valencia suffered a rough 74-53 defeat at the hands of Hart on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valencia in their matchups with Hart: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Valencia saw an underclassman step up: Keira McLaughlin scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Libby Oxciano, who scored 19 points.
Valencia bumped their record down to 8-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Hart, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valencia will face off against Saugus at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saugus is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Hart, they will head out on the road to face off against Golden Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
