Baseball Recap: Morro Bay Snags Ninth Win in Last 11 Games

Morro Bay never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Nipomo Titans. Considering the Pirates have won nine matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Morro Bay let Quentin Crotts and Cruz Wilkinson run wild. Crotts went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Wilkinson went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most doubles Crotts has posted since back in March. Odin Grafton also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Morro Bay has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Nipomo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15.

Coming up, Morro Bay will square off against Taft at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. Nipomo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
