The Francis Parker Lancers came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Bishop with points to spare, taking the game 58-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Francis Parker also won the last time the pair played on January 10th.
Francis Parker found their leader in underclassman Brieana Brown, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. Brown has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 18 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Raagas, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Despite the defeat, Bishop's saw an underclassman step up: Margo Leong dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Leong is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for four games straight. Ayla Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
Francis Parker is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Bishop's, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Francis Parker will take on the Torreys at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 519th, while the Knights are ranked 172nd).
