San Marcos took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Poway, who comes in off a win.
Rancho Bernardo typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Poway proved too difficult a challenge. They snuck past the Broncos with a 44-38 win.
Poway got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ari Mason out in front who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Mya McGowan, who scored 11 points.
San Marcos suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Mission Hills at home and fell 72-18. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points San Marcos has scored all season.
Poway's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for San Marcos, they bumped their record down to 11-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Poway strolled past San Marcos in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 55-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poway since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
