Walnut Ridge proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 61) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Hamilton Township Rangers 35-33. The victory was familiar territory for the Scots, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Walnut Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nariyah Roddy, who posted eight points along with 11 rebounds and six steals. Roddy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaslyn Gore, who earned 13 points in addition to seven steals and five boards.

Walnut Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Hamilton Township lost, don't look at Alexis Wooten. Despite the final result, she had 25 points and eight rebounds.

Walnut Ridge's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Hamilton Township, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Walnut Ridge has already played their next matchup, a 66-23 victory against West on the 16th. As for Hamilton Township, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-32 win against Westland on the 15th.
