Softball Recap: Twin River Extends Winning Streak to Three

Twin River extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 15-9. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Ord Chanticleers an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

JLee Van Driel was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. She has been hot for a while, having also posted at least one stolen base the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kielyn Dohmen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

Twin River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are 9-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

As for Ord, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-23 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On Ord's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allison Wheeler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Twin River is set to square off against their familiar foe Bishop Neumann on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ord will face off against rival St. Paul at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
