After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shadow Hills, the Palm Desert Aztecs were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They took down Palm Springs 43-25. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Palm Desert also won the last time the pair played last Monday.
Palm Desert was led to victory by Ava Tethal and Katelyn Gallagher. Tethal scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Gallagher scored 21 points along with five assists and five steals. That makes it 19 consecutive games in which Gallagher has scored at least a third of Palm Desert's points.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shayla Bates, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Bates hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Aja Walker, who scored six points along with three steals.
Palm Desert has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Palm Springs, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-18.
Palm Desert does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Palm Springs also has no future games currently scheduled.
