Huntingtown and Patuxent are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Hurricanes will host the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Huntingtown is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering North Point just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 34-14 to the Eagles. The game marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Huntingtown might have lost, but man, Gabriel Copeland was a machine: he rushed for 140 yards and one score on only 14 carries. Copeland's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 103 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Patuxent). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Thomas Stone 48-0. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 28.8 points per game.
Patuxent's win came from a few key players Huntingtown will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brayden Watson, who threw for 254 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes. Carter Hayes was another key player, picking up 103 receiving yards and one TD.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Patuxent's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Johnathan Edwards was the leader with two. Jaxon Sullivan was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).
The win was the third in a row for Patuxent, bringing their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.7 points on average over those games. As for Huntingtown, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Huntingtown came up short against Patuxent when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 26-20. Thankfully for the Hurricanes, Evan Blouir (who rushed for 297 yards and three scores while picking up 10.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 133 yards and one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
