The DuBois Beavers were the 42-12 winner over the Brockway Rovers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. DuBois was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 38-37 to Brockway.
Brockway got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sophia Schmader out in front who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds and 8 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Gelnette, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.
DuBois' defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Brockway, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DuBois will take on Central Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brockway, they will be playing at home against Punxsutawney at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
