There's no place like home for West Ranch, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Centennial Golden Hawks on Saturday as they made off with a 7-1 win. The Wildcats not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 23, 2025 (when they won 10-0).
Omar Gutierrez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because West Ranch is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-4 otherwise. Gutierrez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI were his first of the season.

In other pitching news, West Ranch got a great performance from Aaden LaRoe as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, LaRoe posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Ty Diaz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Connor Clayton, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
The victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Centennial, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
West Ranch wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-1 win against Golden Valley on the 11th. As for Centennial, they have also already played their next matchup, a 1-1 tie against Clovis West on the 10th.
