On Saturday, Brawley came up short against La Quinta and fell 51-39. Brawley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Brawley had strong showings from Jaelyn Salceda, who scored nine points, and Carina Roman, who scored nine points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliyah Jackson Montoya, who scored seven points.
Brawley's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for La Quinta, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brawley will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Cibola at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. La Quinta and Palm Springs will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
