The Corning Cardinals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 36-24 to Gridley. Corning has not had much luck with Gridley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Gridley was led to victory by Kirsten Muzzy and Brook Marr. Muzzy scored four points along with five rebounds, while Marr dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which Marr has scored at least 25% of Gridley's points.
Corning bumped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Gridley, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corning will take on Oroville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Oroville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday. As for Gridley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Orland and Gridley are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
