Turkeyfoot Valley Area's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maleigha Younkin led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. Younkin hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games. Eirean Walker was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven steals.
Shade's defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-18. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.6 points per game. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Shade won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Blacklick Valley will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
