Softball Recap: Frederick Has No Trouble Against Resurrection Christian

Frederick had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Resurrection Christian on Saturday. The Golden Eagles were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Cougars. The Golden Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Ella Stromberg was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was Eva Purnell, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Frederick was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.

Frederick's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Resurrection Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Frederick wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-0 win against Moffat County on the 6th. As for Resurrection Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-5 victory against Montezuma-Cortez on the 6th.
