The Hilmar Yellowjackets will head out to challenge the Sonora Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hilmar is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Hilmar earned a 7-3 victory over Orestimba. The win continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Hilmar got a great performance from Marlin Kindberg as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Kindberg a new career-high.
At the plate, Ian Kohen and Jacob Sward did most of the damage at the plate: Kohen scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Sward scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. John Lopez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Sonora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 15-2 to Hughson.
Steven Morfoot put in work no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Morfoot was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Morfoot wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Pousard, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Sonora's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Hilmar, their record is now 12-2.
Sonora's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hilmar has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Sonora, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Hilmar's sizable advantage in that area, the Wildcats will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hilmar might still be hurting after the 18-4 loss they got from Sonora in their previous matchup back in March of 2015. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
