Ellison has gone a perfect 5-0 against Waco recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Ellison has given up an average of 38.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Ellison after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. Even if they lost, Ellison's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Belton's QB won't forget Demetrius Perry anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Perry is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season. Renaldo Johnson was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making 11 total tackles.
Meanwhile, Waco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 48-0 defeat at the hands of Brenham. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.
Ellison's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Waco, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Ellison has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 448.5 total yards per game. It's a different story for Waco, though, as they've been averaging only 234.7 total yards. Will Ellison be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Lions flip the script?
Everything came up roses for Ellison against Waco in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 40-0 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
